This wine is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet and Tempranillo. The fruit was whole berry fermented using natural yeast in open fermenters, after 5 days the must was bled off the skins to achieve a subtle tannic influence as well as a fresh and vibrant body. 95% of the the wine spent 4 months in stainless steel and 5% was aged for 12 months with oak contact before the final blending, egg white fining and filtration. A very small amount of sulfur was added to the wine prior to bottling.
The Stone Wall Nuovo is the ideal red wine for Summer. It is plush and oozing with juicy fruit and freshness. Berries are most evident on the nose, cherries and blueberries come to mind as well as some earthy undertones to round out the bouquet. The palate is soft and refreshing with good balance and a persistent length that refuses to let you forget your last sip. Drink this wine with pasta all’amatriciana or bring it along to a summer barbecue if you can bring yourself to share it! Don’t be afraid to throw it in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour.
