Made with Chardonnay grapes from our two vineyards, 70% from our home vineyard (Bella Luna) and the remainder from Mount Panorama (Wahluu) Estate vineyard. Fermented in a mixture of puncheon and barrique, 15% new and 10% of which went through malo-lactic fermentation. These barrels were all matured for 10 months on full yeast lees with only a light filtration and no fining prior to bottling on 12 March 2020.
This is an enigmatic Chardonnay, on some days showing ripe and generous and on others, savoury and mineral. Initial wofts speak of grapefruit peel and ripe green apple as well as a generous, earthy minerality with some dried herbal notes in the background. In the mouth you’ll find plump stone fruit at the forefront rounded out by a steely and long finish that gives it vibrancy and life.
