WINEMAKING NOTES
A blend of Pinot Noir from Kylie and Scott Mosley’s vineyard on the Amaroo road- harvested on 21 February and Gewurtztraminer (15%) from the Boree Lane vineyard harvest on February 19. The Pinot component was pressed straight to a single old French oak puncheon for fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The gewurtz was fermented in stainless with 25% whole berry inclusion for texture and structure prior to being pressed off to barrel. Both had 7 months elevage in old wood prior to blending, a light filtration and a small sulphur addition.
The Rose di Renzo has a delicate, ferrous, salmon colour. It is very aromatic showing papaya and strawberry supported by a yeast driven generosity. In the mouth it’s firm and savoury, with ripe red apple complemented by a satisfying texture that will ensure this rose is well suited to a wide range of foods.
