2022 Renzaglia Shiraz

Made with fruit from 3 different vineyards across 3 localities; Freeman Vineyards in Kingsvale (33%), First Ridge Vineayard in Mudgee (10%) and Strawhouse Vineyard in Orange (57%). All parcels were treated slightly differently, some with whole bunch, some without some with crushed berries and some without. All parcels were fermented by indigenous yeasts and extraction was deft. The wine went to barrique, puncheon (24% new) and concrete and was held on full yeast lees until racking the following autumn prior to the barrels being refilled. The majority of the wines weren’t sulphured until the Spring of 22.
The wine was blended to tank in Autumn 23 and held in tank for 6 months on fine lees prior to bottling without any fining or filtration in late September 2023.
