2024 RENZAGLIA SANGIOVESE

94 POINTS  “This is a beautiful sangiovese. It slips straight into the realm of ‘light but insistent’, which is a great way for any wine to be but especially for sangiovese. Mid red colour, fresh red-and-black cherry flavours, earth and spice notes, purple flower characters too. Peppercorns but as whispers. It’s the flow of fruit, the tension, and the filigreed tannin that really set this wine apart. It takes complexity in its stride, is beautifully structured, and tastes delicious. Win-win-win.” The Winefront, Campbell Mattinson

2024 RENZAGLIA CHARDONNAY

94 POINTS  “Chardonnay from the NSW Central Ranges (or to be more precise: Orange). This is excellent. Excellent concentration of fruit and personality plus. Honeysuckle, lychee, peach, citrus and nectarine with cream and sweet cedar-spice notes. Full box and dice in a way, but controlled and cohesive. All this at 12.5% alcohol. Like this wine a lot.” The Winefront, Campbell Mattinson

2024 RENZAGLIA RIESLING

90+ POINTS “Riesling grown on the Patina Vineyard at Orange. This is a daring riesling, light and piercing but textural. It will need food or time. Lemon, wax, citrus rind, blossomy characters, and ample acid drive. Texture adds to the wine’s weight and presence though the flavours themselves remain slim. Another 12 months in bottle, even, will do this wine a world of good.” The Winefront, Campbell Mattinson

2024 RENZAGLIA PINOT GRIS

92 POINTS “Pinot Gris from the Chalou Vineyard in Orange. This is part of Renzaglia’s “Central Ranges” line. Bronze in colour, amber-ish. Plenty going on in the glass. Nashi pears, yeast, spices, cooked apples and brine. Skinsy texture and flavour profile, but fresh and energetic. Good wine. Juicy and refreshing but textural and complex.” The Winefront, Campbell Mattinson

2024 RENZAGLIA GRENACHE TEMPRANILLO

92 POINTS “Perfumed introduction and then a fleshy mix of fruitiness and savouriness. Cherries, dried herbs, earth, violet and smoked meat characters with whispers of both red and black licorice. A run of tannin complements nicely, as does a smidgen of nutty oak. Nice wine all around.” The Winefront, Campbell Mattinson

    New release: Central Ranges

The foundations of Renzaglia Wines were laid in 1982, in the most unlikely of places, when winemakers Guy and Betty Renzaglia planted a small vineyard in the dry county of Alto Pass, Illinois, USA. Fifteen years later, their son Mark and his wife Sandy established their eponymous label in the Wambuul Valley, within the cool…

  • Meet the vignerons

Renzaglia Wines produce high quality cool climate wines on a vineyard situated in a stunning country location near Bathurst. Mark is a multi-award winning winemaker, and the vineyard is very much a family affair as affectionately narrated by his son Sam in this short introduction to the vineyard and new cellar door of Renzaglia Wines.

  • Where to from here

It started with a discussion in the summer of 2015, Mum, Dad, Paul and I were on a family holiday in Melbourne and the topic was, “where should Renzaglia Wines go from here? Should Mum and Dad expand the business in the future or should they think about how they could retire without having committed…

  • The Real Review: Renzaglia Wines champion the Central Ranges

Aaron Brasher, The Real Review: “Renzaglia is likely to be a name that you haven’t come across when it comes to Australian wine. I hadn’t discovered them until I judged in the Sydney Royal Wine Show last year with third generation winemaker Sam Renzaglia. “I did have to admit to Sam that I hadn’t heard…

    Vintage 2024

2024 was a phenomenal year for grapes in the Central Ranges of New South Wales……but it didn’t start out that way! We had virtually no water in the soil in early spring and had used up all of our available water including what little we had in our dam. Then, thankfully, the rains came in…

  • New release: Wambuul Valley wines

The Fish, Campbells and Macquarie rivers are all known as Wambuul by the Wiradjuri people. The Renzaglia vineyards lie within the Wambuul Valley, now the namesake for three new wines: the 2024 Renzaglia ‘Wambuul’ Cabernet Sauvignon, 2024 Renzaglia ‘Wambuul’ Shiraz and 2024 Renzaglia ‘Wambuul’ Chardonnay. The wines we title Wambuul are the result of blending grapes from our vineyards. The vineyards in question…
